How does Disney Lightning Lane Work?
Lighting Lane is Disney’s new way of booking rides for return times. Lighting Lane does cost extra outside of tickets and is not required to ride attractions. It just helps your family to plan your day and wait less in long lines. Let’s learn more about how you purchase the Lightning Lane, when you purchase and what attractions fall under the different categories.
When to Purchase Passes
Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can
purchase passes up to 7 days in advance of their stay—and other Guests can
purchase passes up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.
Guests can purchase Lightning Lane passes for days they have
valid theme park admission* starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on their first day
of eligibility.
What is the difference between Multi Pass vs Single Pass Lightning Lane
Let’s understand what the difference is between Multi Pass vs a Single Pass Lightning Lane. Multi Pass allows you to book one tier 1 attraction and two from the tier 2 attraction of each park. You can continually book more rides as soon as you use one of your current 3. This includes being able to book a ride in another park with a valid park hopper ticket. The Single Pass Lightning Lane is 1 to 2 main attractions in each park that you must pay separately for outside of the Multi Pass. You can also purchase either/or you do not have to buy one to get the other. They are completely separate from each other.
