Disney introduces MagicMobile app

Disney is introducing their new MagicMobile app! They are hoping to offer another great convenient and free Disney access tool as they have moved to charging for Magic Bands. You can still get a Magic Band but, it will cost you $5 per band if you place an order on My Disney Experience app in advance of your trip and $14.95 per band when you purchase at the park. Disney will also still offer their free Keys to the World card. You can choose one option or use all three options on your trip! The MagicMobile app rolled out March 30, 2021. It is a roll out process so it means only select phones will get it first and at the time of this blog March 31, 2021 the MagicMobile app is for Iphones and Apple watches only.

What can you do with your MagicMobile app?

You can use it as your Disney theme park tickets, photo pass, gain access to Rise of the Resistance virtual queue and as your room key (all MDE apps can still be used as digital room keys to open your hotel room). You can not use it to purchase items just yet. This makes for a great and easy way to keep everything on your phone you carry with you anyway or even better with your Apple Watch that you never have to take out of your pocket!

How do you set up your Disney MagicMobile Pass?

Open up your My Disney Experience app and click the three lines at the bottom right of the screen. Then tap My DisneyMobile Pass. You will see the following screen.

Once your select your design and add to your Apple Wallet. You are ready to go! You can then share your MagicMobile pass with others in your travel party. Once you share your pass they can add it to their Apple Wallet and use all the options associated with your pass including your theme park tickets. See some of the MagicMobile pass designs below.

When you use your MagicMobile app you can use express mode. This means that you do not have to open your Iphone to use the tap and go feature of the app. However, anyone on a shared pass will have to open their phone to use the pass. If you already own an Apple Watch it will be a great feature for this pass!
