Let me go on record by saying I always say it is better to stay on Disney property for the convenience and the privileges you get, however, if this becomes a better option for you let’s take a look at what you will be missing out on not staying Disney property.

• Guests are not eligible for 60 day FastPasses, you will have to wait until 30 days out to book FastPasses.
• Margaritaville Cottages offer shuttles, but only to the Ticket and Transportation center. You would then take the monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot and then catch a bus if you are going on to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. So this does make it a less convenient option then staying on property, but puts it above many other off property options because the shuttle is free and runs every 30 minutes.
• Guest are not able to book a dining plan when you stay off property.
• The biggest downfall is your family will not be in the magic your entire trip.
